 my mother, when I was a teenager in the 80s, use to do the same with Dragon. very nice present!
Yep, just got the confirmation. Starts with issue #144, which mean I still have to buy issue #143 when it hits the magazine rack, plus I missed issue #141. Going to have to scour the game shops for that one, I think.

Regardless, my mother is the best!

Lessee - I gave an old friend of mine an older "custom built" pc from some extra parts I had lying around the office unused ... p4 2.66mhz, 533 fsb, 1gb RAM, 80 gb hard drive, 256mb AGPx8 6200 Nvidia, etc., etc.

[His old machine was an eMachine with a amd k62 450mhz processor and equivelent hardware - it was giving him fits.

And aside from the various tools (like open office, the gimp, etc.) I loaded it with an extra copy of NWN 1 I had and put a lot of home made modules from the folks at the nwvault onn as well. So I guess that counts.

Myc,
Think maybe you could give me an new computer too? ;)

Well ... to be absolutely honest I might be able to. At BEST it would be like the one I described (I simply don't have many extra parts lying around as I did before). Are you looking for something like that?

The friend I gave it to is newly married and a kid is on the way and he and his wife both work low wage jobs, so I thought it might help them out a bit it "cutting expenses".

Such a computer equivilent may cost about 350$ or so (it had a legit copy of XP Pro, which jacks up the total value quite a bit.)

Do you really NEED something like that? For example, are you in college and working on an old P3 600mhz machine or something similiar. If so I may be able to help you out, although it would take some time....
