What Geek Media Do You Refuse To Partake In?

I generally don't bother with slasher flicks, or other highly gory horror.
I'm a long-time horror fan, but I prefer it mostly as words on the page. That said, there's a difference between gore as a consequence and gore as the point--I'm not a fan of slashers or torture porn (they don't work as horror for me) but something like Sinners, where the gore is present because vampires are, is well within my range.

(Obviously, if your range is different, that's fine; I'm just seeing what seems like potential overlap.)

CCGs and similar collectathons in general. Aside from the fact that I've never been really keen on competitive games, I feel like if I ever did get into such a hobby I'd get too deep quickly, and be sinking far more time and money into them than would be a good idea. So, yeah, for such hobbies it's definitely more a case of "refuse" than just "not interested".

I'll do shorter Anime series (Such as Record of Lodoss War), but I just can't do the Long Anime's (One Piece for example, which my grand Nieces absolutely love, or Pokemon with some Great Grand Nephews).

I just don't feel like I have the time, though I will sit and watch if they insist I do so. Dragonball Z is another that is just so massive, I don't think I could wade through it all. I know some are massive fans of it.

In that same light, the harder stuff (things with nudity or worse) in the anime frame. It's just not something I think is for me. There are some fantasy Anime that sound like they could be fun to watch, but then I find out that they also have some stuff I really don't want to watch (or some very maladjusted male who harrasses every woman he sees type of trope...which to me is really off putting) in them.

The bigger problem with those is that it can be difficult to tell if the fantasy Anime is a clean one, or has undesirable stuff in it, and many of the fans of these series don't differentiate. It makes it so that on a whole, I just avoid those series, even those that I might feel would be right up my alley.

Someone mentioned LARPing. I don't do that either. It's just not something I'm really all that interested in. I think it is wonderful for those who enjoy it, but it is just not my thing.

I don't think there are broad swathes of media I refuse to partake in - like it's something that's anathema to me.
I played Magic back in fairly early days and had some fun for a while, but then stopped and haven't significantly gone back - so it's not like I refuse to play collectible card games. I just don't currently do so.
I have LARPed a little, but don't really do so now.
I don't buy much in the way of comics but I still read some (mainly older and in trade paperback form).

Probably the closest I come to outright refusing:
I won't play Vampire: the Whatever-It-Is-This-Time RPG. I generally won't participate in that game because the idea of playing a vampire is something I do find kind of loathsome.
I also stay away from most OSR stuff because there are too many problematic people and sentiments involved in the community.
I won't touch a game like Dogs in the Vineyard because of how problematic it is. But that's hardly a "geek media" and more just a game with a despicable setting/focus of play.

I have to admit that I think these game could be a lot of fun - if I had unlimited funds to play with. I enjoy some deck builder games, and the "sky's the limit" aspect has potential to be neat. But outside of that, I agree 100%.

What's so striking to me is the followup with things like this: Hasbro CEO Cocks and Execs Sued for Alleged Securities Violations

There's a lawsuit about manipulating the card market? But literally the entire enterprise is based on manipulating the card market. Like, that's the business. That's all they do and have ever done. It's like UFC fighters charging each other with assualt and battery. I get that there are rules, of course. But still.
Having been a comic book collector in the past, I know full well that the publishers may benefit from the appearance of collectibility, but they are in no way beholden to it, and it's buyer beware for anyone participating in that.

Warhammer. In all of its iterations. I think I would be able to appreciate it as satire (and I'm always willing to give CIAPHAS CAIN, HERO OF THE IMPERIUM a bit of a pass in that regard), but it's a style of grimdark that I simply don't have the patience for anymore. I need there to be some hope out there, somewhere, to latch on to.
