What grid are you gaming on?

Just wanted to get a good census on what non standard grids are being used out there. Most minis have a 1" base, and our square grids and hex grids have been designed with that in mind.

What grid do you use, or would if you could get one?

We have the ability to customize boards for individual DM needs, so what would you like to see in a gridded gaming surface?

What I would love to see (and probably hate to pay for) is a 4'x4' gridded, laminated (or whatever) Table (legs and all) with mini drawrs, done up IKEA style. Ie. order it cheap, assemble it yourself.

Right now I am using a large chessex mat with 1.5" squares with a piece of plexiglass as an overlay. I like the larger squares because I have so many miniatures with larger bases that represent medium creatures. Wide stances are popular on a number of sculpts but they are not very friendly to the 1" square.

I'm still using my Tact-Tiles. They're looking a little dingy, so I might need to give them a real good cleaning, but the lines are still strong and clearly visible.

I have used a dedicated kitchen table and hutch for years to good effect.

I am really looking to see what gamers want other than the standard 1" grid on top.

I have these requested a few times, the 1.5".
That one should go down on the custom option list.

After years of gaming with minis on various 1" grids, including square and hex mats made by Chessex, Crystal Caste, Dragon Scale tiles (remember those!), Skeleton Key tiles, and plain old 1" grid easel pads, we've dumped minis, and just scribble everything out on a plain sheet of butcher paper. Yeah, that's right. *butcher paper*.

I use my own home-made dungeons tiles/pieces similar to Dwarven Forge or Hirst Arts pieces, but made of foam core and covered with images of stone. I use a 1.25" grid. Fits the minis and terrain pieces better...leaves room for the over-sized minis that seem so popular now, with weapons and wings and limbs sticking out everywhere.

Also just seems like a better scale for everything. 1" is just a tad bit too small.

A 1" square Chessex mat, a double-sided 1" square and hex mat made by Crystal Caste, and 1" grid easel pads that I pre-draw encounter areas in full color.

I also own some Dungeon Tiles and Dwarven Forge stuff, but use it rarely.

I'd love to have a clear chessex type map with 1 inch squares!! I'm using the MEGAMAT right now but I do a lot of my stuff in photoshop and it would be nice not to have to attach grids and just print it out and put it under the map!
