Latharion sees the creature. He kicks the closest comrade awake while taking aim with his bow.

"Wake up, we've got company. Did I mention I hate mosquito's?"

Attack : comp longbow : 20+4 = 24, damage 8, crit confirm : 7 bugger.

ok Latharion knocks back his bow and strikes one of the rather large mosquitos down. and it splats into the ground like a champ.

However, as they approach Latharion notices there are still 13 more of them coming and this turn they fly so that they are right on top of Latharion and the rest of the party. they are buzzing around and preparing to feast on blood as they flop menacingly around.

Ok everyone I assume wakes up at Latharion's call and can now act in their regular initiative order(taking this first round as a "suprise round").

Seat, Lily, Stulgar, Siobhan, Raven and Latharion.

"Ug!" Raven's face crumples with disgust at these creatures. She rolls up from bed, grabbing her shield and sword. She'll move to put her back to Latharion and swing at them with her sword.

OOC: Might take two rounds to do all that. She's at full AC, though, as she can sleep in her chain shirt.

*Siobhan curls back her lip slightly.*

"These things are not natural creatures. They drink the blood of their victims. Exercise caution!"

*She stands warily, which takes all her focus since she was surprised.*

OOC: you are correct these are stirges. However the suprise round has already concluded so siobhan has a standard action left. still waiting on the rest, I will NP Cseat if he turns out to be holding up the party(i.e. all others have posted this rounds actions)

Latharion drops his bow and draws his scimitar, striking out at the creatures as they descend on the party.

OOC Attack nat 20 dmg 4 Confirm 12, dmg 8. (I told you invisiblecastle doesn't like me). Assign dodge to the stirge attacking him. If someone could set up a flanking attack that would be nice since he's apparently covering raven's back .

Seat mumbles a preayer to a half-forgotten fire god, which should summon a sheet of flames.

ooc: Seat moves to a suitable place (that meaning "where he has some protection from front line fighters and doesn't burn them with his spell") and Readies an action to cast Burning Hands (damage 10, Reflex ST dif. 14 half, as soon he can catch a good number of bugs in the area of effect.

2nd level: Cure moderate wounds, Web, Scorching ray.
1st level: Cure light wounds, Burning hands, Entangle, Free slot.
0 level: Cure minor wounds, Detect magic, Read magic, Guidance.
