Siobhan, you see and hear nothing unusual, Raven, you do avert a quicksand patch. Congratulations.

As you borad he ship it appears there was struggle but oddly not a bloody one. Even more interesting is there do no appear to be any bodys.
However there is a certain...residue here. Knowledge dungeoneering can identify it.
[sblock=Knowledge Dungeoneering dc 20] The gooey residue present o nthe ship reminds you of the chitinous growths of many abberations and one of the Hallmarks of the Abberations created by the daelkyr.[/sblock]
A cursory glance shows that it appears as though no cargo was taken.

(OOC: Well, she doesn't have Kn: Dun, but whatever that stuff is, she should at least know that it isn't using Kn: Nature)

"That residue is...unnatural--I have no idea what would leave it, but it is outside the realm of nature, that is for certain. It probably has something to do with the assault here. Strange things are going on here...I wish I could speak with those Druids who sealed the foulness away...maybe they know of this."

Seat clears his throat. "Not my specialty, but I can tell these pieces and globs of chitin and gelatinous residue belong to some subgenera of difficult classification, mainly because of they have been warped from existing creatures by the magics of the Daelkyr and thus defy any cladistics or systematic classification. I'm confident on being of some help if we manage to find some of them and are forced to battle them, and being able to give you the exact (if unfortunately, just common) name."

ooc: Knowlege check 29

"So, the crew seems to have been kidnapped by some Daelkyr-inspired magic creatures. Seat, could you give us some examples of what these creatures might be? I can't even picture what you might be talking about."

"It's interesting that they didn't take the cargo. This means they were after the crew specifically. Or perhaps the ship was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Let's search the ship for more clues." suggests Raven. "Stulgar, would you have a check outside to see if you can find any tracks?"

OOC: Is Raven able to find any dragonshards aboard ship? Is the ship still able to sail, function? Does any of use PCs have the skill to repair it?

On board the ship Raven finds a good many things. 1st and foremost she does find the dragonshards, large uncut ones, probably worth more than her life.

She also finds a myriad of other things, a journal detailing the trip so far, there seems to have been no indication of any foul play or even any hints of disaster impending. She also finds an eternal wand of cure light wounds,2400 gold pieces, 3 heward's hand haversacks, a wand of scorching ray with 26 charges on it, and a very pristine looking chain shirt. Otherwise you also find 5 less pristine chain shirts, 50 crossbow bolts and an arcane scroll of gust of wind. the ship is a mess it looks like there was a lot of things overturned and torn up. The majority of the damage to the ship however does seem to have come from the collision with the tree.

"Nor me" replies Seat. "Im serious when i say these creatures defy any classification. You should expect the unexpected, but anyway looks like we have our cargo and some riches on top of that"
