What happened?

[SBLOCK=Druidic]"Thank you for your hospitality, friend. I am not a Gatekeeper myself--I am but a humble servant of the spirits, and though I cannot claim membership of your great and honourable sect, it is certain that you are my brethren, and I wish to aid you."[/SBLOCK]

*Siobhan motions for the others to join them as well.*

"They're taking us to their leader who shall provide aid and advice."

"I'm sorry to disappoint you, but only the most mighty Druids in the most ancient legends passed down in whispered tales from master to student have the ability to cause an earthquake," Siobhan apologises.

As you go outside you see a party of 6 orcs,3 of them weilding double-axes, 2 with some odd looking scythe and finally an elderly looking orc with a quarterstaff. The druid motions and begins walking as they being to blend back in with the swamp around him.

As you follow you come across a lot of stilted thatched huts and tents and an entire tribe of orcs going about their daily business. Most look with distrust until finally an extremely old yet still powerful looking orc comes out, raises his hand. Says a word in orc and then speaks to you in common "Wlecome brave druid and friends. I am Orkutsk. I understand you have lost your friends here recently. IF you would like, we could aid you in raiding the stronghold of these foul chitonous beasts and their oddly shaped leaders. We have scouted them out a bit and they are too powerful to take out in a battle. However, we recently lost some tribe members to kidnappings and would like to recover them. However, a small force would be best for this simply to recover our lost tribe members and prepare to fight another day. Would you be willing to do this for us?

OOC: Sorry for the absense, work n stuff. And great stuff Lily and Siobhan ;)

"It seems we have similar goals then. Your help would be welcomed." Stulgar says.

"The tiger lies in wait and stalks the enemy, cutting his numbers slowly. Surely you are correct that a frontal assault would be dangerous, particularly when they have the advantage of the home terrain.. If we sneak in to free the captives and make the enemy chase us, then we can fight the ones that pursue on more even terms, and if they overcommit to pursuing us, we may fall, but you may be able to rush into the base and destroy the remainder while we delay the overcommitted pursuers."

Orkutsk smiles You are wise beyond your years ,child of moon. Very well, allow us to assist you. These creatures have some sort of nasty ability to make warriors useless in battle so be prepared that if you engage them things could turn sour quickly. iti s ashame for these abominations devoted to the Dragon Below were once human. However, they gave in to the desire for power and made deal with some servant of the Daelkyr. Now they are merely shades of their former selves wrapped in chitin and warped into odd shapes and must be destroyed. Allow us to help you. Each of you describe your strengths in battle and I will provide some thing to help, if I can, from out tribes supplies." As he says this, he motions to a few of the younger orcs and they go to a tent and begin to look through trunks.

Raven follows along, quite interested in the orc swamp culture. She would never want to live here.

When asked about her skills, she says, "Thank you for your help, Orkutsk. I fight with my sword and shield. I strike for the enemies weak points. Do you know if swords are effective against these creatures? We are interested in freeing the captives who were taken from that ship. "

*Siobhan bows.*

"Thank you, Orkutsk...what you say worries me. I only hope that your people and those we seek have not been similarly transformed by the foulness of the Daelkyr."

*When he asks for their strengths in battle:*

"Some day, if the spirits bless me, I hope to master my moontouched nature and learn how to transform into an animal, so I may fight that which taints our world. But until then, I am afraid, I do not have the strength to fight. My brother is my strength in battle, and he is strong enough for both of us. I serve to do my best to heal and aid the others around me, hoping that doing my best can help to improve them to even greater heights."

(OOC:  With that speech, she'll probably wind up with yet *another* cure wand or such, not that she will ever reasonably run out at this point ;))

Seat is about to point out that, after recovering the cargo, it may be on their better interest not to engage on a battle against mutant chitinous men. However, he listens intently the orc trying to remember if he has heard of or read about the monster is he taking about.

ooc: Can we make a Knowledge check (dungeoneering, probably) based on the orc's description to know what is what we're about to face, and hopefully their resistances or vulnerabilities?
