What happens when a minion crits?

Why not make the minions who crits deals +1 of damage. Its what they get by leveling up. Anything more than that seens to much.
And even that is a lot that will leave your PCs bloodied or worse.

Minions are mean. Sure, as individuals they get wiped out, but as a collective (which they always are) they are vicious.

When a mini-onion crits it does the same damage, but gets to look really good doing it. No real extra crunch, but the ego-boost in front of his minion buddies is worth it.

He's certainly upping the lethality, but it's not wrong nor broken, AFAICT.
Well, it's neither RAW nor RAI but I agree that it probably doesn't change the average damage output by much.

Just keep in mind that four minions are supposed to dish out as much damage as a single standard monster on average. The chance for 2-4 crits from 4 minions in the same round are low but if it happens it might be more swingy than intended by the DM.

I dont know that it would be all that wise to make minions crit for more than their fixed damage, particularly at lower levels.

I was able to DM the first half of KotS this past weekend and found that well played minions could be quite deadly in their own right.

I did try to increase their "deadliness" by allowing them to all act together at the same initiative count (while rolling separately for all non-minions). It seemed to fit thematically for minions and made minion control for the PC's even more important.
