Those were great times, indeed. I miss them, too, sometimes.

Why miss them? With all this nostalgia, I'm starting a 1e PBP here.

I solved this problem of missing things from older systems by starting my BECMI and OD&D games. Best gaming choice I ever made.

Yeah been seriously debating on a 1e game for a few years now, ever since I got fed up with 3.5. But I really like the new game from what I have read and it still has (to me) that old school flavour, but lacks the slower advancement I loved in the old games and is far speedier to level than 3.5. I think levels were a lot less important in the old edition, while also being very important and the slow levelling made players really focus on their character and who they were as opposed to what they could do and what nifty items they have. I still remember that stories about characters were literally stories.When you bragged about your character you told the stories about his actions. Now, you hear about their +5 sword and armour and how they can do this or that attack for 200 damage.
