In this poll the top five preferences in order from most to least popular are...

Fun
Creativity
Socializing
Adventure
World Building

With "Acting" coming in behind close in 6th place. So now I present what should be the final poll on this theme. You can choose multiple selections. Once this unscientific study is done I should be able to come to an unscientific conclusion and write up an unscientific post about it and what it could mean to the RPG designer.

Again, if this inspires another to do a real scientific study, go for it.

I'm confused how I'm supposed to vote here. It asks "How important do you consider ...", but I can only vote with check marks. Not a lot of granularity there. Do you mean to ask "Do you consider any of the following options important?"

To be able to torture (note: not kill) my PCs, see them driven before me, and hear the lamentation of their players.

That being said, there's no way one can vote in this poll in a way that answers the question it asks. What gives?

For creativity and world-building, I'd rather write a story - or an RPG supplement, for that matter. :D In-game, I don't find those elements come to the fore.

All the others are important to me to varying degrees; I would probably rank Fun and Socializing as number one and two, then Acting ("the roleplaying stuff," as you put it), then Adventure, since that last is the only one that isn't universal across different types of RPGs.

From most important to least:
Socializing - Through my few years of playing i've met alot of cool people who are still good friends
Fun - Well... thats why we play right?
Adventure - Good chalanges and fast paced action! that really gets the juices flowing ^_^
Creativity - Using "Entangle" to create a living costume of Roses at a highclass costume party... A little painful but really impressed the locals. Also rolling up and creating new characters never loses its fun.

The least important for me is acting. Someplayers are really good at it and some arn't (me included). If someone forces me to act, not only am I not having fun, but the people who have to listen to me talk in a fake voice are not either.
