I'm at home and would have to go to the store (I will later today) to give you actual numbers, but from what I gather, they sold "fine". Which is to say - we would expect the format to sell less, so we ordered less, and we were right. We move through them here-and-there, but not at the rate of the other books. I'm happy to have them, and I don't think we've ever been out of stock, so I'm not saying that we cause them to sell less (by keeping them OoS), which can happen when a retailer is dubious about a product. But they sold fine. Around expectations. Which are slightly lowered. Does that make sense?
Sure. Thanks. I was just curious.

I'm happy to share.

I think that WotC had to face a thing that had little to do with sales, when it came to those slipcases. I think we can all agree that Spelljammer was poorly reviewed overall, and that Planescape was considered "better", but wasn't exactly raved about either.

Now, there's a lot of reasons for that in both cases, but one of them is that the format forced a page-count that very likely caused WotC to cut content that probably would have improved the product. One of the very reasons that PS was better than SJ was that it had more pages.

Before I'm misunderstood, I'll say: We all know that more =/ better, but in this case, it seems that things were cut from SJ that were directly asked for in much of its criticism.

At any rate, the FR books were, I think, generally much better, and not just because they were FR.

I believe it's going to be Dark Sun AND something Ravenloft...

Evidence for Ravenloft-related content is that it seems to be pushed in a lot of other collabs, notably a Ravenloft-themed Secret Lair just announced today.

Obviously, it could just be because Ravenloft is supercool and/or the anniversary of the CoS release (which I don't think is as big of a deal since CoS is a remaster of the original Ravenloft module), but it'd be nice...

Also, if it's a Ravenloft II: The House on Gryphon Hill remaster I'd be over the moon!

Are we only talking about B&G;s Platinum edition? There can be two things released each year...
I was mostly being a smart ass. But given there is (apparently) only one platinum thing, I think we can guess there is going to be a BIG thing (and an adventure, based on history).

I do think both Ravenloft and Eberron could use adventure anthologies, but I do not believe WotC thinks such setting specific books would be worth the effort. Which is too bad. While you can adapt other more generic adventures to those settings, they deserve adventures that really dive into their themes, lore and mechanics.

They are both suggested as locations for adventures in existing anthologies, and many of the Golden Vault adventures fit better there than in the FR.

I thin you are missing my point.
The point really, is the anthologies are not setting specific, and feature adventures that work just fine in Ravenloft - I know because I have run them there myself. There is no need to produce setting specific anthologies, and indeed it would be repeating the 2nd edition mistake of narrowing the potential market.

Anyway, we can be confident the B&G thing isn’t an anthology.
