What is a Kord related hook?

My players are soon to reach the epic tier. One of them wants to become an exarch of kord (the demi-god epic destiny) so i want them to have plot reason and experience with Kord. However, I can't think of a compelling epic hook for Kord.

kord.... strength storms nothing subtle but rather overt displays of skill

* lead a war?
* take the "plot item" to the top of a mountain whose peak is constantly surrounded by storm clouds and plant the plot item there as a lightning rod in order to keep the storm from spreading to the nearby city (where it would be a problem there). Of course, planting the lightning rod will of course attract lightning damage for the person carrying it every round
* wrestle an epic level giant and win only to learn it was a test and the giant was an avatar of kord who had been watching the hero for some time due to his potential.

Divert a river with your bare hands (it worked for Hercules).

Wrestle/Kill x with your bare hands (It worked for Beowulf/Hercules)

Survive a force of nature (tornado, hurricane, tsunami) while naked, both physically and without magical assistance.

Physically (or through force of wiill/your own magic) hold closed a gate to the Elemental Chaos for three days straight.

Swim ACROSS the sea, armed with only a knife (kinda worked for Beowulf).

Sate a hundred succubi in one night.

Basically, any feat of legendary manliness that would require epic levels of Endurance and Athletics. Ask yourself "What would the Old Spice man do?"

There have been plot hints dropped that Kord wants to bring things to a head, in order to spark the Dusk War. Think Ragnarok. The End of Days. The final culminating battle, between the gods and the primordials, at the end of time.

As fba827 said Kord isn't about subtlety. He's an in-your-face god, who doesn't back down from confrontation. He's a warrior's warrior, who hates subterfuge. If things are working to a head, like the slow and plodding march towards the final confrontation, then he'll just say "Screw it!" and bring it right now.

Want a good Epic hook? The end of creation is a pretty good one.

Kord is a god of War and Skill. A suffciently high level warrior could easily draw his attention. Particularly if you go the rout of a plain Demigod who gets the story position of Exarch instead of the Chosen Destiny. Honestly, if the guy is a high-paragon warrior type, just have Kord come to him and offer him a job. Perhaps make it a quest, set it up as a test of skill to see if the character is worthy.

Leading a war is not epic enough. Picture the faithful of Kord receiving a vision of a city beset by enemies with whole armies preparing to invade them. Breaking a seige with only 5 or so people? That is a true test of skill.

Forsooth. Like Jonathan son of Saul and his shield bearer in the First Book of Samuel (that is the Bible by the way). Or Samson slaying the Philistines with the jawbone of an ass.

Anyone can lead a war. To get Kord's attention you need to fight a war.

To be clear, I mean "fight the war" the way you would say "wrestle the crocodile." You beat that damn war into submission with your bare hands.

Subdue both sides and send them home through the sheer force of your personality and the sheer strength of your muscle.

Remember, you're an epic-level warrior now! Anything Sam Vimes can do, you can do better!

Kord is the god of storms, of competition, and the son of Winter (his mother, Kala, was winter goddess before the Raven Queen). He helped defeat his own mother when she tried to freeze the world in an Ice Age.

Kord is Thor, Odin, Zeus and Herakles, all rolled up into one. He fights to prove his strength, sure, but he also fight for those who can't fight for themselves.

Look to the God of War games for some inspiration if you need it. Kratos is always doing ridiculously epic things (especially in the second and third games) in the name of war. He actually is the God of War for a bit!

Other than that, I'd say the most important thing about an Exarch of Kord is that they aren't just about battle. They are actually physically drawn toward it. They cannot avoid battle, because that is what they are. So, if he wants to truly become the exarch of Kord, he needs to find the battle of his time and take part in it, regardless of what the stakes are.

If that means he has to visit another plane of existance, that's what he'd do (and since it is epic, that would fit thematically). Maybe he actually has to take part in the Blood War (not technically part of 4E anymore, I don't think, but still a cool idea) - and not just participate, but actively change the flow of the millienia old war.

Maybe he has to skip around to multiple different worlds looking for the ultimate battle to take part in to prove his worth to Kord.

Those are a few thoughts, just off the top of my head.
