What is on your Buy list?

Also, I'll pick up a few of those Gary Gygax worldbuilding titles from Troll Lords if the price is right...Insidiae and the Extraordinary Book of Names have both been worth it.

I REALLY want to get Gygax's Insidiae as well.

Though I won't be at GenCon I have some must buys coming up that are GenCon launch products:

  • City of Brass
  • Pirate's Guide to Freeport (print version - I have the PDF)
  • True20 Freeport
  • Castle Whiterock
  • Savage Worlds Explorer's Edition (is this a GenCon release?)

Does anyone know what is different about Gary Gygax's Canting Crew Revisited that has changed from the original?

Right now, just a Pathfinder subscription (yeah, I know, I've been meaning to get around to it), printed copies of Murchad's Legacy and Chainmail (i.e., printed copies of the PDFs that I purchased), and possibly copies of the Creature Collection II and III, plus Relics & Rituals I and II.

So far, 2 items are "must buy"...

Originally all I wanted was a copy of Weapon of the Gods, but I've arranged a trade for that, so it's off the list.

Topping the list is Witch Hunter from the folks at Paradigm...I'm told it sold out at Origins, so I'm pretty much running for this one:)

Next up is the new edition of Conan from Mongoose. It sounds like they fixed everything I wanted fixe3d and it looks awesome. Can't ask for more than that in a new edition.

If World on Fire for Spycraft 2.0 is available, then it's on the list as well.

Why Witch Hunter and not Solomon Kane. I am a big fan of savage worlds but I know nothing about the system for witch hunter

-- Mutants and mastermind's new setting: Paragons and the adventure that goes with it

-- Conan 2e and the Return to the Road of Kings

-- Solomon Kane for Savage Worlds (or witch hunter if someone can convince me it is better)

-- Iron Hero companion

-- Aces over Eights by Kenzer

TannHauser - FFG - boardgame
Talisman 4th ed - GW boardgame

Those are the "must haves" from this year's Gencon. The rest is discretionary and very price dependent.

Battlelore XPs - if the price is right - Days of Wonder boardgame
Twilight Imperium 3rd ed + XP - if the price is right - FFG boardgame
Star Wars D20 - non Saga version books - looking for baragains here
Pirates ot Spanish Main RPG - might buy this at close to list
Plastic card holder for Settlers of Catan - should have bought it last year
Miscellaneous Accessories - I'm a sucker for this stuff. It's my fave thing in the dealer room
A pitcher full o' Chessex dice - just because
Axis and Allies minis - if the price is right - serious bargain required

I'm not posting a want list for D&D books - mainly because with about 70 hardcover books right now, I'm not feeling the need to buy more at this point unless it's something I really want. And right now, MMV excepted (which will be cheaper in Canada) I don't see much out there that I don't have.

Solomon Kane for Savage Worlds
Iron Heroes Revised
Iron Heroes Companion
Player's Guide to the Wilderlands
City State of the Invincible Overlord (the new 3.5 version)
Dark Tower (by Goodman Games)
Castle Zagyg II & III
Expedition to Castle Greyhawk
C&C Engineering Dungeons
Ultimate Power (for M&M 2e)

That's all I can remember for right now.

Thinking about MARS, but I have Under the Moons of Zoon (and it's free), so maybe not.

I just watched the Tannhauser trailer vid on the FFG website - looks really cool. I actually signed up to play Descent this year for the first time - really looking forward to that.

This is the top of my list too. It did sell out at Origins, but Henry and Co. are prepared for GenCon with plenty of copies to sell.

Also by Paradigm Concepts that all rank second on my list are "Year of Ill Harvest" the first years story arc for Arcanis, Psionics Unbound, and the limited edition hard back Codex Arcanis.

Four books from one publisher! That's a record for me.

Respectfully,

The production values which FFG has put into their Quicktime movie ads for Tide of Iron and for TannHauser are awesome and have totally sold me on both games.

In all seriousness - those movies are EXACTLY the way to do focussed marketing in the Hobby Games market via the Internet. They hit every note and got everything right.

Any representative from every company who may be reading these forums - yes Scott Rouse I'm looking at you - could learn something from Fantasy Flight's preview movies. They are without peer.

I'm not going to Gen Con but I am going to pick up:

Monte Cook's World of Darkness
Emerald Empire (L5R)
World on Fire (Spycraft)
Paragons Campaign Setting (M&M)

That's all that comes to mind at the moment.
