D&D 5E What is the highest level you normally play to?

I marked 9-10th as that is when most of my campaigns have fizzled out for one reason or another. However, we always play a few high / epic level adventures just for fun.

I'd be curious to know of the people who gave level 20 answers, how many people started at level 20 and/or sped up leveling to get to level 20. I'm not saying that's bad or anything, just that in my own anecdotal experience (FWIW), people who play up to end game levels prefer the end game level, so they get there as fast as they can. A lot of the PC builds people are like this, it seems, since they love making maxed out level PC builds and want to see them in play.

That is what we do. However, I marked 10th as that is as far as we usually get when start at 1 and we don't jump strait to level 20+

I have two groups: one homebrew campaign and world, other APs. The latter group got to 13ish in Princes of the Apocalypse, and 4 in Lost Mine of Phandelver. The homebrew group is now level 15, and we intend to get to 20; but I'm starting to have to introduce fairly extreme plots ("Go to Ysgard!", "Rescue the Ancient Hobgoblins from the Githyanki!", "Defeat an Ancient Red Dragon and her army!") at this point, despite the Elder Scrolls style wander around and make your own plot theme of the campaign.

For the future, I intend to limit my games to a level 12 soft cap, I think. It is much easier to come up with short adventures for that level and below.

Highest my group has gotten is to around 14th level. Usually most games end around 6th to 9th level, with a handful getting to 11th or 12th. When I run games, I get tpk's around 5th, but when they survive that they get to at least 9th or so before we switch campaigns.
