What is the most detailed setting available?

I am submitting Harn. It's maps are utterly amazing, nearly every major city is mapped, the royal bloodlines of every Human & Demi-Human realm are detailed, and scores of manors are detailed down to the peasants in the fields.

Top that.

I wonder whether Glorantha should be considered. 40+ years of publications & the recent boom of fan content in the Jonstown Compendium. The shelf space in my library comes to over 2 metres of work.

I believe Aventuria for The Dark Eye is very detailed. Not all books have been translated from German to English yet.

I would find it hard to believe that the Forgotten Realms does not have the most written about it. It does not have every noble bloodline, but the volume of setting material would be hard to match.

I also thought of The Dark Eye/Aventuria immediately, but with all the information from 1e and 2e, the Forgotten Realms should probably at least come close (for something that is forgotten, they are really quite well remembered).

Tekumel by MAR Barker is a contender. As is Wildlands of High Fantasy by Judge’s Guild.

I'd agree with the aforementioned Forgotten Realms and Tekumel. I don't know if it would deserve first place, but I'd also put Kingdoms of Kalamar in the running.

I'll agree on Forgotten Realms: it has great maps and a lot of fiction, but very little political detail, and political detail there is, is piecemeal.

My vote is Middle Earth (for The One Ring) or Star Wars. Both are RPG settings and both have decades of detail and history.
