Obviously your DM doesn't know Rule 0. Rule 0, coined from 3E, was that house rules must be agreed upon by everyone and provided up front. Rule 0 does not mean the DM gets to do whatever she wants, whenever she wants.At first it was great for the game, we could resolve rules issues quickly. But after awhile the DM liked to invoke rule 0 a lot and when the rules contradicted her she would tell us to put the book down and eventually banned it.
I don't have that option.
I am not a subscriber anymore.
About a year and half ago when Morris ran his plea to avoid going broke I resubscribed - but never got credit for being a subscriber and hence never got the "extra" features that entitles you to.
So I just won't do it again - even though I like this site a lot.
Did you try to clear this up with the admins ?
