Somehow, I feel I should have expected something like that from U.K.... :)

Hmm. Now that I think about it, I might very well agree with him.

Demogorgan... Terrasque... Demogorgon... Terrasque...

Tough call.

Shhh... my turn! Pfeh!!!! Ahem:

I'll have you know that I dine on Terrasque most every Sunday; actually my favorite dish is a Terrasque and Troll borsht made with saltwater and served cold.

Kudos for using your 1st Edition portrait rather than the Book of Vile Darkness speghetti limbed - hyena mask wearing incarnation.

monsters

Nightshades, esp. the Nightwalker. Man, that is just cool.

Dragons. They're classic

That new creature from the Fiend Folio that gives the Balors nightmares :D (can't remember the name...)

Star Spawn :p

As for "weenies"...Orcs. Can't beat orcs, specially after LOTR II hit theatres. :D

My favorite is the flumph!

The second stringers are the Yuan-Ti, Rakshasa, and Nagas. I'm also fond of intelligent apes. They all have a great pulp fantasy Robert Howard exotic feel to them. Furthermore, the greatest aesthetic strength of all of these is in the non-combat arena. It's all about the lost civilizations they form and the forbidden cults that worship them. Just discovering them is half of the story!

My favorite fiends are Juiblex and Mariliths, although I did like the idea of that guy stuck in a block of ice in the BoVD.

Come to think of it, I seem to have a thing for the Indian themed creatures. Never thought of it before...

Ahh, I'd forgotten about the Githyanki (good one) and the Cat Lord (my favorite "monster" from the 1e days). I also have to say I've gotten a lot of mileage out of the humble Hill Giant.

Cheers,

A'koss.

In general...zombies and kobolds; however, ogres "have a special place in my heart" as the very first adventure that I wrote for my brother and his friends to play (many years ago), was called 'ogre castle'---had a very far-fetched "plot."
