I recall kind of liking this oneRokugan for Legend of the Five Rings also had a 3e era, started by WotC but continued by the original creator (much like 3e Dragonlance).

I prefer the non-d20 version of the game (before and after the WotC era), and I don't care for what happened to the setting after AEG sold the property, but generally it's one of my favorite settings ever.I recall kind of liking this one
I do like Exandria more than the Realms. Feels more like a real place to me. YMMV of course.Having always played in the Forgotten Realms with my old group back in 3e, I liked it, but I felt it was much too massive in scale. Now that I'm DMing my own group in 5e, I appreciate that Exandria is a lot smaller and cozier (and I even have 2 campaign setting books dedicated to specific continents (Wildemount and Tal'Dorei). It also doesn't hurt that I watch Critical Role, so I get to see the world in full action, and I feel I know it better that I ever knew FR.
The old world is amazing. I prefer it to 40k to be 1000% honestAlthough not D&D, I also love the Old World Warhammer setting. Gritty and dirty, with a sprinkling of doomed humour.
