My favorite soup is New England Clam Chowder. I think the best I've had was probably at Legal Seafood in Boston.
Obviously since this is a matter of taste, you cannot be wrong, but of the Chowdas I've had around here, I think Legal is good, but far from the best. I like my chowda thicker.

I don't know what chowder is. Do you mean chowda?

Chowda? Isn't that what Red Sox fans were crying in after the Yankees spanked them the last two times they met? ;)

:)

Personally, I like Manhattan clam chowder, lobster bisque and split pea with ham or bacon.

French onion soup (but, as Rodrigo noted, it has to be the full-on version, with the crouton, and the cheese baked on top).

Most forms of chicken soup. The restaurant near me that we know as "the Cow" (due to the big fiberglass cow up on the roof) serves a killer cream-of-chicken soup on Sundays, that's almost as thick as gravy. Yum. :D

What depresses me is when we go to a restaurant, they offer 3 different soups, and *all* of them are veggie soups. There should be a federal law that mandates the offering of some form of chicken soup at all times.

Never liked soups really. The only one I do like is pea-soup. I don't even know if it's very known in elsewhere but here in finland it is pretty traditional.
