As a DM or a player, which kind of monster do you find most interesting and want to see more of in your game?

Feel free to get more specific:
Which historical mythologies do you draw from most, and which monsters in that mythos would you want to see expanded on?

Which classic fantasy creatures are your favorites, and which do you think are cliched or overdone?

Which iconic D&D monsters are you always glad to see again or feel have never gotten their due?

For new monsters, what kinds of abilities, concepts, niches, etc. do you want to see?

Classical beasties and mythological creatures are pretty easy to find, so I voted for the other two. Granted, the iconic D&D baddies are easy to find as well, but they're great monsters. ;)

I like the really weird monsters. Myconids, spider eaters, catoblepases, intellect devourers, and the like. Stuff that I describe and my players say, "We see what?" Stuff of which they're not likely to remember the abilities off the top of their heads.
