-Menace- entities, Progenitor guardians, and soul amalgam constructs.

So new monsters, I suppose.

However, I also like the classic D&D aberrations, and most norse-inspired monsters (giants!).

I'm sick to death of outsiders, especially evil outsiders.

I tend to really really like (or really really hate, I suppose) Psionics. There's just something really cool (or really uncool) about being able to manipluate, not only someone's body, but their mind.

Totally creepy. It's the best.

Where do they go, though?

None of the above. I like simple monsters like goblinoids, kobalds and the most deadly of all...humans.

This is only because when Buttercup plays, she likes to be especially vicious to her human attackers and her flaming burst dagger. :)

I voted for all four.

The only things I don't like monster-wise these days... more humanoids, and undead that have no real reason to exist.

Other than that, I'm happy with anything.

This was my first time posting a poll - next time I'll get more mileage out of the number of options allowed. I definitely should have made a category for "I like all monsters", though--since that's my own answer, it's pretty inexcusable of me not to have included that one! :D

I voted for iconic D&D monsters. In terms of coolness, it's just plain hard to beat old standbys like the displacer beast, the beholder, the mind flayer, and, of course, the gelatinous cube.

Anything that has a really cool special ability, especially something that inflicts some kind of effect (eg trips you) and does damage at the same time.

Come to think of it, my favorite Final Fantasy abilities were pretty similar - both as things I used, and as things the villains used.

The "iconics" almost never show up in my games, because they never feel right -- they always felt more like something rather silly or just something created to deal with the rules.

Mytholigical? Often, if they feel like they fit. Legendary? Sure, again, if they feel like they fit. Low-level creatures and humanoids who are classed? Constantly; they are the main villains, especially the undead (ghosts, vampires, zombies, ghouls, skeletons, etc.).
