What Level Adjustment (ECL) would you assign for a immortal character?

Re: Re: I think I'll go with +4

Thanks! Here is a final polish of the stats of this template.

(+4 Level Adjustment)
Immune to aging, poison, and disease
Ability to speak or write any language (as Polyglot feat)
Low light vision
Fast Healing 3 (as Fast Healing feat)

Hi there Kaelynna! :)

At best I would say that is a +2 ECL bonus.

Each 'ability' or characteristic increases the ECL of the recipient by 1.

Actually I would say that an individual Feat represents about +0.2 ECL.

Damage Reduction 5/+1 equals about +1 ECL

The effects of low light vision and polyglot would probably be negligable.

Immunity to aging, disease and poison is possibly +1 ECL

Thanks Upper_Krust!

What extra abilities would you grant that would total +4 ECL that would work well for an immortal character? I would like to keep it at +4.

Thanks!

Could change fast healing to regen with no means of dealing normal damage. Then defeating them wouldn't just be chopping them to little bits, might require a smidge more creativity.

ECL or CR?

PMFJI, but I'm curious--do you really mean for this template to increase ECL? Or do you mean CR? I ask because all of the features you mention (except for the immortality bit, which I'll get to in a moment) are either feats or race/class features that don't affect the ECL of the races/classes that can take them. For example, when a monk gains the timeless body class feature, his ECL doesn't change; his CR does (because he just gained a level), but that's not the same thing. Raising ECL means a character has to gain more XP to reach a certain total of class levels, and I'm not sure any of the features of this template justify that; but they obviously justify a raise in CR, since they grant abilities which you'd normally have to gain a level in a class to get.

Re the immortality, I have a template IMC that essentially prevents the recipient from ever dying of old age (no other benefits); I value it as +0 CR and +0 ECL, basically because it has no effect at all on how much of a challenge the character is in a given encounter or how "advantaged" he/she is during a given adventure. Just my 2cp.

Well looking at the Leshay; the key ability seems to be its Gaze. You could perhaps develop a 'watered-down' version with perhaps apes Charm Person; rather than Charm Monster.

Maybe an Insight Bonus (+5) to AC is fitting and a +5 bonus to both Dexterity and Charisma. Spell Resistance 15. Damage Reduction 5/+1. Fast Healing 3. Elf Traits. Superior Two-weapon Fighting

Re: Re: I think I'll go with +4

Well I really appreciate your help (as well as everyone elses). This is good stuff.

So you would recommend all this for +4 ECL?

Gaze (charm person): DC 10 + 1/2 Character level + Cha modifier.
Insight Bonus +5 to AC
Dex and Cha +5
Spell Resistance 15
Damage Reduction 5/+1
Fast Healing 3
Elf Traits
Superior Two Weapon Fighting
Immune to aging, poison, and disease
Ability to speak or write any nonmagical language

I really appreciate your help with this,
- Kae.

Re: Re: Re: I think I'll go with +4

I decided to remove the Superior Two Weapon fighting. This EX ability is pretty closely tied to the SU ability LeShay weapons. The abilities below are probably enough for +4 ECL.

As it stands I make that +4.5 ECL

...but what the heck - I could always be .5 out! :D
