D&D 5E What level do you like to start at?

I like to start at 1st and get to 2nd by the end of the first session and 3rd by the end of the second.

This is about how I do it, though I usually aim at getting the PCs to level 3 by the end of the third session.

For an actual campaign, always 1st. Always.

For a short "adventure", then any level that works, well... works.

Despite the fact that I started my Rappan Athuk campaign at 1st, broadly speaking when running 5e i start at 3rd because that's when chargen is done.

Level 0 isn't an option so I didn't answer the poll. I start with a level 0 funnel based on rules from an older Adventurer's League adventure plus the funnel concept from DCC. I really like playing through the zero to hero. I also like to establish stakes with early PC death in a way that doesn't take any player out of the combat or game. Even thoughout a campaign all players have backup characters. Some players rotate characters, tactically selecting characters for specific missions/adventures. Other players favor one and just have the backups "just in case."
