What level is your favourite?

Yeah, I'd be happy with any of 7th, 9th, or 11th, so if I have to choose I'll take 9th as it is in the middle.

My favourite level is 1st level.
However, if playing a full campaign at a given level, I'd prefer 2nd or maybe 3rd level.

I think I'd go with 12 in 3E, if the players formed a pact to not abuse scry-buff-teleport. You've gotten access to the higher tiers of class abilites (if single classed) or partway through a prestige class, without getting to the absolute breaking point (in my experience the line between 12 and 13 is the line where fun stops like it hit a brick wall).

In 4E I'd go with 12 as well - you get that first PP utility to play with.

I vote for 7th. It worked in 2e, it'll work in 3.x, too.

I tend to be good anywhere from about 3rd to 8th level. The first couple levels can be hard to survive and anything about 12th just feels too much like superhero comics for my taste. I like characters that are competent, but not overpowered.
