What magic item would you want in real life?

Definitively...

A ring of regeneration. Won't give me world domination (necessarily... ), instant wealth, or anything of the such, but as a very useful item for someone who sometimes trains a bit to hard, this would be the best. Feel great the next day! Every day! }:>

One of two things:

Decanter of Endless Water, and charge for endless free clean water for thirsting countries.

Portable hole, and sell it to someone for as much as I can get.

Or even better - a rod of resurrection, and charge 100 million dollars per charge. Can you imagine how many insanely rich families out there who would pay that money for undoing the untimely death of a loved one?

I would then disburse the funds, and keep only 100 million or so for myself. I'm a charitable guy. :D

Keep in mind, no one asked about ethics - onbly what you would do with it.

Hmmm, what was that item in S&F... Headband of Excellence, or something like that...? +6 to WIS, INT and... uhm, DEX if I recall correctly.

Thinking better, how much would a ring of wishes 1/round with unlimited uses cost?

There was a piece on PRI's (often confused for NPR) this American Life, about giving the people the choice of if they could fly or turn invisible which would they choose. The person conducting the survey found that everyone wanted to say flying, but that in their heart of hearts everyone wants to be invisible. Did anyone else hear that it was extremely interesting.

In any event an everful purse of Gold Coins would be really nice, but I might opt for a Rod of Ressurection. I'm sure there's someone out there willing to pay a lot of money to be raised from the dead.

Maybe a ring of three wishes...

and i heard the NPR program, it was great... but that wasn't exactly the conclusion. like a lot of great radio programs there isn't really a conclusion, just musings...

It's been a long time so you could very well be right.
