What magic items have you sold recently?

Given the recent threads on what magic PCs are allowed to buy and the prevalence of shops/NPCs to buy from I was wondering what was being sold to fund these shopping expeditons.

It seems to me that most of the magic in the world has already been created and thus every thing is technically second hand.

In other words I feel that everthing (or almost everything) you find for sell was sold to its current owner by adventurers or other NPCs looking for quick cash.

So, what have your PCs sold recently?

As an aside, such a list could be used to determine what is for sale by those DMs so inclined to allow purchases.

My last group of PCs didn't sell anything. They gave it away. The gave away a ring of defelction +5, that was the most powerful item I recall. They also gave away a staff of earth and stone and a staff fire. Now, its not like these were spare items, in fact they didn't have any rings that protected them at all, yet they still gave it away. The staffs were given away to a wizard they rescued who didn't have a spellbooks and need to protect himself to travel to safety.

Heh.

The only magic item my party has sold recently was a +1 longspear.

My character's a sailor who's made his own armor (mithral chain shirt and mithral buckler) and just got them Enhanced by an artificer, and took a clan of gnomes up on their offer to Enhance his Masterwork, Gold-inlaid Rapier, a gift from his last captain.

That's all the magic he's got.

I should mention that in my Arcanis home game the PCs have sold a Rod of Flame Extinguishing and a Ring of Mind Shielding. In five levels of adventuring they have kept everthing else.

I was about to say "I wish I had players like that", then I realized, I kinda do...

In my current campaign, a disguised PC sold a +2 bastard sword at Urbane Outfitters (107 Rue Central in the Grand Chase Plaza, behind the Royal Customs House, Narayan District, CITY) as part of frame-up of a unscrupulous naval press-gang captain that the party happened to kill. The sale (and frame) went spectacularly well. The transaction was handled by their in-house 'exotic merchandise' expert, Margeaux Devareaux, under the watch eye of their in-house weapons master, Zeus.

Also, two enchanted bucklers were disposed of in the Bazaar at Marimbra: one was traded for a suit of magical chain to a loquacious mercenary named Sul Sark, the other sold to a reputable dealer in magics he knew, Kadijah Thoris of the Helios Flower Clan of the Great Ummab of the Shirac.

So yes I have the magic trade, and no, its not just a matter of leafing through the DMG and subtracting gold from your sheet.

our party is pawning at 50% cost nearly 44000gp worth of items on our DM.

if given the chance it would be more. but the DM snuck the party cleric with 65000gp worth of items out of the game before i could CdG him and take his stuff.

.

It can be frustrating. The players at the time all had low ACs for their level, and mentioned that to me so I include a very good item to help their AC problems and they gave it away.

Lets see .. it probably was a stack of +1 chain shirts. Fought hard for those. We were the target of hit and run tactics of some measly CR 2 elves (we're 6th level). Our DM, although a novice, is good at squeezing last bits of power out of low CRs. One PC paid with his life for those.

I'd take compassion over greed and bloodlust any day... leads to more involved stories. I can always tone down the opposition.
