What media villains would translate well to D&D?

Ooh, another idea just came to me...Joe Pesci's character in Goodfellas. Give the mastermind a sidekick who is jokey and easy-going, but with a hair-trigger temper that drives him psychotic at the slightest provocation.

Edward Longshanks from Braveheart is also a good example of a ruthless, crafty king used to getting his way. Obviously he is an easy transfer to D&D.

Gene Hackman's character in Unforgiven is another Lawful Neutral type that could give players headaches.

What other antagonists from books, movies, or TV come to mind? Keep in mind that I'm interested in how you see them fitting into a D&D campaign.
The evil swashbuckler from Disney's version of the Three Musketeers. He's an evil swashbuckler. (Yeah, I know, hardly original. But it's one I've actually used!)

No one's mentioned Keyser Soze (The Usual Suspects) ? Evil mastermind who works from behind the scenes who destroys anyone who opposes him and everyone who knew them just for good measure. Is utterly ruthless in accomplishing his goals. A master of deception, manipulation, and blackmail who has agents in every power structure, even if they aren't aware of who they work for.

Yeah well the thing is no one KNEW what Kesyer looked like. Not until the end. That's what made him scary bad ass.
