What monster killed your first PC?

I've been the DM for most of my 25 year gaming career... but I once joined a friends game back in grad school. Created what was essentially an arcane archer, 17 years before the arcane archer was invented for 3E. Within an hour of joining the party, on the first day I played in his campaign, the DM's wife decided her magic-phobic barbarian would dislike my character and hauled off and cold-bloodedly killed my archer, for which I had created a wonderfully detailed history. Alignment be damned.

Not a very enjoyable game. We didn't play much after that.

They were divorced 2 years later.

Green Slime... 1st level Dwarf, my fellows and I 'descended' into the earth. I killed an Orc with one swing! When entered a big room with lots and lots of pools in int. I was brave and drank out of one of them AND grew to giant size! I thought COOL and ran and drank out of another one… and turned into green slim… a giant pile of green slim. I then rolled over the rest of the party and killed them also… SOOO it was the first total party kill for our group also!

This just shows how infrequently I get to be a PLAYER (usually the GM) ...

But I don't think I've ever had a character die. Hrm.

That's odd, actually, to realize. I've been gaming for quite a while, and generally campaigns end or games break up before my PCs ever bite the dust.

Vrocks. Lots of vrocks and a DM's overeager play at brutally ending a campaign. Alas Jurosh the 5th level Fighter, I knew ye well.

The first PC I killed:
A 3.0 Monk that was killed by a lot of mummies. He ended up getting killed a lot in that campaign. In fact, ever since 3.0, the bodycounts in all my games have steadily risen. I was kinda afraid to kill off characters in 2e.

My first PC was an elven wizard named Eleiana. This quickly got shortened by my boyfriend to Ellie the Elf which is where my screenname comes from.

Eleiana was killed by the party cleric. We were playing RttToEE and had got inside one of the lightning towers. I got paralysed by a spider eater. The cleric (who ironically enough followed a goddess of healing and cast next to no damaging spells) and two other party member went exploring after the fight, and the cleric rolled a Nat 20 and dispelled the electric core thingy that turned out to be all that was keeping the tower up. We were TPKed either by the collapse of the tower or by getting fried by the lightning from the other towers as we tried to escape.

The first PC I killed was a foolish and unobservant rogue who went way ahead of the party to scout and didn't realise he had stumbled into a white dragon's cave.

My first PC death was two weeks ago, by my friend's first time DMing (and he did a really good job, which surprised us!). We were invading an orc fort, and my paladin died. It was rather ironic, because his first death was a paladin killed by an orc.

White young adult dragon. I was frozen solid. The party thief then punched my bard and shattered him into a thousand pieces. I still need to get vengeance for that one!
