You mean you own S1MONE? Honestly, I felt that was one of the absolute worst movies I have ever seen in my life. I enjoy most anything, but I felt violated by that movie...

I'd say The Exorcist and The Princess Bride off of this list, possibly with Ever After as a pleasant salad course.

Starship Troopers? Only if specifically demanded by your physician... :p

Yes I own it. I bought it on ebay for $5.

only watch starship troopers if you must. personally, I would burn it before watching it, and make sure the remains don't contaminate the rest of your garbage. If you are going to watch it, read the book first. No other novel has had a greater impact on my life, and no other movie adaptation has been so shameful. The novel is about morality, politics, and ethics, perhaps the finest moral philosophy of our times. The movie is 90210 with space bugs, and rather tasteless at that. President Clinton watched it more than any other movie in the whitehouse's private theatre, adn while the man was a more than competent presdient, anyone can tell his taste was lacking. Just look at the national christmas trees he designed. Or the intern he picked.

I rather liked "Starship Troopers." Granted, it wasn't anything special, but it didn't make me want to kill myself, either.

I voted for Starship Troopers and Superman.

I can see why some people who adore the book hate the film Paul Verhooven made out of Starship Troopers. In order to like the film you have to enjoy Heinlein being satirized, by someone other than himelf.

And you have to enjoy watching a big, dumb, scfi-fi action movie that also wants to be a merciless critique of big, dumb, sci-fi action movies. But it features a psychic Doogie Hauser eventually decked out in SS drag, and not many other films that actually exist can make that claim...

And on the other end of the spectrum, you have a completely uncynical, pure, sweet (and also dumb) Superman. While not as good a film as II, it does have Supes reversing the flow of time by flying around the Earth real fast in order to save his True Love, which is the most affecting comic-book moment in any movie I've seen.
