At present, I'm not allowing any basic classes outside of the PHB. (Hell, right now I'm not even allowing Monks.) That will change after I get some time to pull out my books again and put some serious thought into the non-core basic classes; some of them look like fun on paper, and some of them seem to fit what I want for player-accessable niches in the campaign, so I think that I ought to review them and make some decisions.

I think there's a problem when you have the Mystic and the Favoured Soul in a campaign, because the Favoured Soul always seems to be the more appealing choice.

I allow my player's to use all the classes you put in your poll. For some reason, I've never seen one of the new base classes from the complete series nor from the minis handbook.

Oddly, in my group we almost always pick the mystic. Favored Soul seems too one-archtype (the chosen hero thingy-with-wings) that most of my players don't like. Many more would rather get the flexibility of choosing a domain and going into comtemplative if they want a chosen hero.

Hmmm... Didn't think of adding Sohei, OA Samurai and Shaman to the list. I'm sorry.

BTW: I did run a game with an oriental/medieval hybrid (think Final Fantasy) and I used the CW samurai. Why? Its much more of a specific archtype and fit a niche better. If I were ever to run an oriental game though, I'd use the much more flexible OA samurai.

Currently I am only using the Arcana Unearthed classes (akashic, champion, greenbond, etc.), rather than any of the "core classes", supplemented by Monte's bard class and a non-magical ranger-esque (as opposed to Dangeresque) class, the pathsilker.

I voted for "core classes only", as that was the closest to my choices on the list. ;)

I allow my players to use any classes from the Complete series or the PHB in my campaign. Thus far just have 1 player who has multiclassed into Swashbuckler after a couple levels of Fighter and 1 of Cleric. Though I imagine something from Complete Adventurer will tempt one of the 3 rogueish characters in the group.

Artificer and the psionic classes for my Eberron campaign. I'm also using a slightly modified Unfettered (from Arcana Unearthed). I've been considering including some sort of mixed arcane/fighting class, akin to AU's mageblade (sort of the arcane version of psychic warrior).

For one, I want to emphasize/clarify that IMC, there will be core classes available to the PCs, and core classes that will be NPC-only.

For PCs, there's all 11 of the PHB core classes, all 4 of the XPH classes, CW's samurai & swashbuckler, CD's shugenja, & CAr's wu jen. (I'll probably at least allow scout & ninja from Complete Adventurer; I'll have to review the spellfilcher before I consider it). I'll also allow the CG "paladin of freedom" variant from UA, though they're core class name is "Avenger."

For NPCs, there's all of the PC-allowed classes, plus the NPC classes from the DMG (which makes up most of the NPCs/population), CW's hexblade, & CAr's warlock. There's also the LE "paladin of tyranny" (or "Blackguard") & the CE "paladin of slaughter" (or "Ravager") from UA as well.

I don't like anything reminiscent of MAD, so that's why I didn't allow CD's spirirt shaman or favored soul. PCs can sorta-kinda replicate the basic concept of a warmage through a multiclassed sorcerer.

I was considering using the classes from OA, but some of the mechanics in there didn't seem that easy to mesh with standard D&D (which is what I was going fro, rather than running a pure OA-based/themed game).
