What nice things has a fellow EN Worlder done for you?

I am in a very good mood at the moment. A couple of days ago, I posted a thread, asking if anyone had a spare copy of Dungeon #139 as Paizo had sold out of them and I didn't know where else to find a copy. Charwoman Gene said that he had a spare copy and would send it to me. When I asked today about how he would like me to pay him, he said that it was free of charge!

Needless to say I was very surprised but extremely grateful at his generosity. I have been lucky enough to be on the receiving end of an EN Worlder's generosity a couple of times now and I think it is time that I publicly recognized these people.

At the end of last year, I start collecting D&D minis. I was having trouble finding a Storm Archer mini for sale, which I though would be perfect for one of my players to use as his PC mini. Echohawk offered to send me one if I couldn't find one anywhere else. After looking around at a number of places online without any luck I took him up on his offer. He not only sent me the Storm Archer, but about 100 other minis that I was after, all without expecting anything in return.

Kaomera saw a thread where I commented that I didn't think I'd ever be able to get a Beholder mini, due to the rarity and cost of one. He e-mailed me and offered to sell me a spare one he had for a much smaller amount than the actual market cost ($30+). After a few e-mails, he ended up sending me not only the Beholder but about 40 other minis in exchange for only a couple of minis that I had (which were worth much, much less).

Earlier this year there was a sale on some Necromancer Games adventures on DriveThruRPG. I lost track of when the sale ended and it ended the day before I went to buy one of the adventures. I e-mailed Necromancer Games to find out if they would be on sale again any time soon. Bill Webb from Necromancer Games (I'm not sure what his username is here) relied, saying that he would put it back on sale for me the next week. In the end he had a little trouble getting the computer system to put the adventure I wanted on sale again so he send it to me free of charge.

Honourable mentions must also go to Festivus and diaglo. Festivus sent me a spare copy of Dungeon #124 at cost price when I was unable to find a copy of the issue anywhere else. diaglo offered to buy me a copy of Dragon #310 (I think it was that issue) from his FLGS and send it to me when my subscriber copy got lost in the mail and Paizo didn't have any replacements left. This was despite the fact that I had only been on EN World for a couple of months and was still very much a newbie poster. Fortunately my subscriber copy showed up a month later so there was no need for him to send me a copy but I still thought it was a very kind offer to make.

So what acts of generosity has a fellow EN Worlder done for you (or someone you know)? I think it's time that these things people got the recognition that they deserve for their good deeds.

Rel was my Secret Santa at Circvs Maximvs and coordinated fun gifts and a thread full of EN Worlders saying all sorts of nice things to me. That was really thoughtful.

(contact) sent me some of his old D&D stuff for no other reason than he wanted me to have it.

Chronosome wrote and recorded a song for me!

I'm sure I'll think of more...

Rel has put me up many, many times in the past at his house during ENWorld gamedays in Raleigh, free of charge. He's a great gamer I've come to know over the years as a good friend.

Cthulhu's Librarian has given me scads of gaming product at first sight before. BAM! :)

I'm sure I'm missing a few dozen acts of charity from other forum members towards me, and I apologize to them, because the community is such a bunch of sweet people I can't even remember them all, much less list 'em all.

Pile that on to stories of friendships forged online, people having taken vacations at other people's houses, people who paid for others' trips to places, people who gave gifts to other members' sick relatives, etc. It's really amazing any time I start reflecting on it.

mr_outsidevoice - Mike Reeves mailed me an OOP Crystal Mat (a transparent Hex Battlemat, once made by Chessex), FREE, so that I could use it to run a board game event at Gencon.

It was a very kind and generous act and while I did pay him some money for it - he never asked for it and sent it before Paypal ever knocked on his inbox.

Mike gets a big thumbs up from me.

grodog helped me replace my decimated, much used, and nigh-irreplaceable copy of the Barnicus: City in Peril adventure module from Dragon magazine. diaglo got me to take a another look at the One True Game, much to my subesequent delight. Mythusmage, I'm certain has helped me with something of great import, though I can't quite recall what at the moment. And. . . I am certain that there are others, though my memory is horrible (so sorry if I forgot anybody).

Mycanid sent me a copy of a HUGE homebrewed adventure/campaign. Awesome!

Ruleslawyer hooked me up with a pdf copy of Iron Heroes. I just wish I had an opportunity to use it.

Lots of folks have been really helpful with advice and rule clarifications. Love my ENWorld.

Rel and Old One gave me a bunch of sandwiches and let me sober up at their place during Gen Con.

Saved me an epic hangover I suspect.

Piratecat made me the happiest man on earth the day he married me :D

On the other hand, I'm sad to report that none of you jerks have ever done anything for ME. I mean after all I do for you guys, like...hm...well, I STILL think you should do something nice for me!

Although I DID quite enjoy Piratecat's game of Spycraft a few years back at GenCon, now that I think about it. Or was it Origins? I think it was GenCon. Anyway, yeah - PC is top notch in my book, but the rest of you guys are on My List (tm).

Piratecat gave me advice on how much my sleep schedule was likely to cause me to get into a flaming car wreck. I wish I could remember how that conversation started...
