What nice things has a fellow EN Worlder done for you?

100 minis for free????
Whoa, I'm still saving money to buy some minis, they are pretty expensive over here. Until that, those broken plastic soldiers I got from my 10th birthday are handling just fine!
Does anyone have the pages 23, 81-84 and 104 from PHB3.5 to spare? The book I found in the garbage was missing those.
Thanks.

I've been running and designing games for ages, but there's been nothing like being able to work with lots of interested people in the E6 thread for making me feel like my ideas are appreciated and worthwhile. Since it took off last month, nearly every day I’ve logged in to see something like this:

I love the idea of the system, and am in the process of cajoling my players into giving it a try.

I'm unlikely to get to use this anytime soon, but I just wanted to say that it looks fantastic; the most exciting idea I've seen for D&D in a long time.

First off, E6 sounds like a fantastic idea. When it comes to system tweaking, striking a balance between "what makes sense" and "playability" usually results in "too many house rules."

After months of lurking I had to create an account just to congratulate rycanada on his fascinating E6 system and the equally fascinating discussion it has spawned. Well done!

thanks again for all the work done, the basic idea of E6 is exactly what I was looking for.

I love the idea, can't wait to test it out on my players.

thanks for posting your idea for E6 Rycanada, I'm finding it a perfect match to a lower powered campaign I have done a bunch of work on in the past. I really can't get over how much I like it.

This is a brilliant idea - it keeps the basic structure of D&D, but preserves the sweet spot as long as possible!

This is a sweet system

I really like the idea of E6.

This whole E6 concept is gaming genius, and solves the common sticking points of inflated HP and superheroism (not that I'm bothered by either in the normal D&D game and similar RPGs), without having to resort to ludicrous amounts of abstraction. […] Thanks Ryan! I intend to lead an E6 if I ever get my current campaign over with.

I'm really liking this idea. I think it'll mesh well with a low-magic campaign world I have in mind.
GameDoc said:
Really great idea, Ryan! ... I am hoping the next new campaign my friends and I start will be an E6 or E7.

I like how E6 is easy to describe- as normal D&D until level 6, then a feat every 5,000 xp. That's a big part of its appeal. I haven't been able to define an alternative in such a concise and elegant way.

If I can talk my players into it, I'm thinking I'll start with E6

Started a game of GE6erron on the weekend.

I'm also running a GE6erron game.

I just finished running a D&D campaign a couple of months ago where the characters ended up at 14th to 16th level (depending on La). While it was fun, near the end it became a chore to create appropriate villians and encounters. And don't even get me started on the high level spells issue. So I was starting to think about my next campaign and I find E6. This is a great idea. A whole box of cookies for rycanada. Currently (details to be worked out with the players) I am planning on running either E6(lean upward) or E8 game with Gestalt characters.

Also, let me say I love the raising the stakes mechanic. I'm going to try it in my next game!!

I signed up just to post in this thread (thank Google... :) E6 is an amazing rule variant. I've decided to use it for an upcoming campaign lacking magic of any sort, but with psionics. The feel of E6 really fits the concept I have for my campaign, and I'm really glad I stumbled onto this thread. Once I get the campaign background fleshed out and get ready to start the campaign, I'll be hosting the game over at rpol.net. Again, awesome idea rycanada, et al.!

Money can’t buy that kind of encouragement.

Piratecat gave me advice on how much my sleep schedule was likely to cause me to get into a flaming car wreck. I wish I could remember how that conversation started...
Sleep deprivation -> less transfer of short term memory to long term memory.

Pirate Cat introduced me to Dave Lozzi.
Dave Lozzi introduced me to Diabolus.
Diabolus got me the best job I've ever had (where I am now).

Not to mention all the times PC has had my wife and I over his house, the dozens (hundreds??) of great games we've had, etc...

Oh, and Dave Lozzi gave me a Bullette mini for free!
More importanly, Dave Lozzi "arranged" for my warforged necromancer to find a scroll of Body of War, thus making all my dreams come true.
And those dreams could not have come true if Varianor Abroad hadn't traded a Warforged Titan to me for cheap.

LegolasGimli24 bought me a stack of Steampunk comics on HER vacation!

EnWorld member Fluffaderm was gracious enough to marry me.

Qualidar spoils my cat. :)

I must have left a million things/people out, too! There's a reason I still come to EnWorld, even though I no longer play or run D20 games. ;)

Beyond great gaming advice, encouragement of my creative endeavors and fun conversations at GenCon, fun threads to read and enjoy?... Hmmm...

Pogre purchased a Community Supporter Account for me last year.

It was probably his advice on making it to (and through) GenCon from several years back. He gave out a lot of good advice on the subject, if I recall. I recently pulled that thread up so that I could copy some of the advice to a co-worker who had just had twins.

I told Dave Mage once that I was a half-way house for used and abused games. He said
he would send me something. It wasn't just something, but a box full of OOP books and
mags.

Dave Mage is a cool cat. :)

I've had so many cool things done for me by EN Worlders that I'm scared to list any, for fear of offending anyone I accidentally forget!

Suffice it to say, I've received hospitality, gifts, logistical help, and, of course, donations.

This year, Xath and her Other Half have very kindly offered to put me up in Washington for a week, despite having never actually met me, which is so fantastic that I'm almost speechless. Let's just say that both of them will be getting lots of free dinners that week!

Publishers have always been very generous to me, too. WotC, in the last couple of months, has blown me away with it's generosity - Scott Rouse has arranged for WotC to pay for my flight and hotel to Indy this year.

This is an incredibly generous community. I've made dozens of real friends through EN World and CM. I'll always be grateful for that; and am especially cognizant of the fact that my Diplomacy ranks aren't high enough that I show that appreciation enough.
