Honestly? I just buy the core rulebooks...maybe a supplement book every now and then. But my dice, minis, battle mat, etc., all come from other manufacturers, and we use the Mad Irishman character sheet.
I like the Minis because I don't have to paint them, but I also mix in Heroscape and Mage Knight minis along with the occassional pewter/lead ones, I don't really care. I generally use my battletech hex maps since I use hexes for the game instead of squares. I generally don't use a wall of fear and ignorance...I mean DMs screen.
DM screen and some old Ral Partha minis, plus the D&D soundtrack by Midnight Syndicate. Whats the best way to buy minis these days? Especially if you don't want alot of randoms?
Well, I used some old Ral Partha minis, but not ones specifically designed for D&D.
No official D&D plastic minis, no official maps, no official character sheets ... not even an official setting. As for GM screens, I tend to make my own or just put up a random barrier between the adventure and the players.
So, I didn't use anything "official" for my games that way.
