This is as weak as threatening to punch someone in the face over the internet. You've got access to matter transportation over the wires? Don't offer me a donut you can't deliver.

Most of the art of 3rd edition is clearly inspired by American comic book art, but there are definite manga stylings in alot of the 3rd edition art (which isn't surprising considering how much cross pollenation goes on in the industry now).

Mmmmm... donuts. If I thought you could, I'd make more effort. But frankly, you strike me as not wanting to be convinced, and therefore unconvincable.

Oh, hey, I'm willing to be convinced, it's just that NO ONE has shown me ONE SINGLE EXAMPLE EVER. No matter how many times I ask for examples, no one can ever point to a single solitary one.

Ok, tell ya what, let's make this a real challenge:

The Find the Anime Challenge

So, are you hard enough?

I think D&D artwork should be eclectic. The art director should push the artists to each go their own way. Then they should push them to go further. Grim, heroic, comic book, manga/anime, abstract, photo-realistic (even photo-montage), etc., etc.

D&D is the melting pot of fantasy & the art should reflect that as well. Save the focused art direction for the FR, Eberron, Greyhawk, etc. books where it belongs.
