Pathfinder 1E What project would you like Paizo to tacke next for Pathfinder?

What project for Pathfinder would you like Paizo tackle next?

I would actually love a Rules Compendium. The 3.5 version was a wonderful reference book when I needed to check a rule on the fly. The page-by-page alphabetical format was even more useful than the table of contents at times.

I'd also be very interested in a FAQ-type section in the aforementioned which tackles some of the more complicated aspects of the game.

Normally Asia would not make my top list. I'd be interested, but not particularly eager.

But, the Paizo flavor and texture makes it a top choice for me.

I voted for psionics. And I personally hope that Paizo does not model it on the vancian/spell slot casting method.

The way I see it, what is the point of developing an alternate magic system if it is basically the same as the other system. One of the reason psionics in 3.5 has such a strong fan base is because it follows its own unique rules. I think that with some thought and feedback from psionic lovers, Paizo could make a balanced, fun system that isn't just a carbon copy of the traditional casting method.

IMO, psionics are what sorcerers should have been in the first place; I personally cannot stand the sorcerer, not because it is too strong or weak, but because it feels as though it is a wizard. It has the same spell lists, the same casting method (speaking gibberish and dancing around like a lunatic), and the same flaws (armor interference). Psionics offers an alternative way of looking at magic; the powers follow similar rules to spells, but function in a different manner. And best of all, they are different enough to distinguish from a wizards spells; the common man may not be capable of telling the difference, but those in the know can.

I don't mean to derail this thread into a "why I hate sorcerers" rant; if I have done so, I apologize in advance. I simply wish to point out what psionics can potentially bring to the game, for those who are looking for something different; I certainly don't wish for Paizo to dump the sorcerer. Not that they would in any case. :p

psionics

I agree with you about psionics needing to not just be reflavored magic.

If they're going to do psionics, they should probably start with

1) a list of things that are possible/easy with magic but impossible/hard with psionics

2) and vice versa

I would suggest that giving psionics elemental powers was a bad idea. This more than anything else made psionics seem like just another type of magic to me.

3) defenses vs psionics and magic should be separate. If you are good at resisting spells it should not automatically follow that you are good at resisting psionic effects.

I don't really have a preference one way or the other regarding psionics.

I guess if 3.5 "backward compatibility" is to remain, then the system must resemble the 3.5 version. On the other hand, there's nothing wrong with adding a new subsystem and calling it something other than "psionics".

*shrug*

I voted Modern Rules. I don't particularly much care for psionics and epic level play. I think psionics have a place in sci-fi games but not in traditional fantasy.

I voted Asia-Themed rules but it's more all-encompassing than that. The Inner Sea is just a very small part of the world. I'm hoping as time goes on they open up more parts of the Golarian - like an Asian-themed area, with new "stuff" (classes, feats, traits, themes, items) etc. so that the Pathfinder rule-set evolves (although I don't know if evolves is the right word) as more of the world is introduced. A melding of their amazing fluff with the Pathfinder crunch which to me seems like a great way to keep Pathfinder fresh.

epic level

epic level would be a good choice , but i think will be a good idea to put a limit in the progression of the character , maybe 40 level? i dont know.

Whatever they do they need to make sure the Pathfinder epic rules allow me to use James Jacobs' Demonomicon demon lord stat writeups from Dragon magazine.
