What Race Do You Usually Play?

Frankly, I think you should have made a poll a bit less comprehensive, it would have been more manageable.

With the options being more simply:

1. Dwarf (all subraces included)
2. Elf (all subraces included)
3. Gnome (all subraces included)
4. Half-elf & Half-orc
5. Halfling (all subraces included)
6. Human
7. One of the Eberron races (Changeling, Kalashtar, Shifter, Warforged)
8. Goblinoid, Orc, and other miscellany Humanoids
9. Gnoll, centaur, catfolk and other beastmen
10. Some high ECL monster (minotaur, lillend, night hag, ogre mage...)
11. Planetouched (Aasimar, Tiefling, Genasi, etc.)
12. Psionic race (Maenad, Elan, Dromite, etc.)
13. Other planar race (Gith, Bariaur, Buomman, Neraphim, etc.)
14. Wild Stones of Destiny (Goliath, Gargun, Illumian, Raptoran.)
15. Something from 3rd-party publishing (Mythic Races, Arcana Unearthed, Races of Evernor, etc.)
16. Something homebrewed.
17. Something silly (Flumph or other creature really not intended as a player race).
18. I'm never a player...

For the most part, humans.

Last character was human from Calimport fighter 1/wizard 5/eldrtich knight 1.

Current character human from Dalelands rogue 2/paladin 2 going into shadowbane inquisitor PrC from Complete Adventurer.

Character before that was human cleric 10.

Before that, human monk 7.

Before that however, high elf rogue 8.

I don't have a particular race that I play more than another. I love dwarves, but in my 3.5ed experience, I've only played humans. I've played dwarves, elves, halfelves, gnomes, halflings, humans...

I cast my vote for "Other". I think "other" describes my tastes best of all. I enjoy playing unusual character types, something that is harder to pin down than simply human, elf or dwarf. My current PC for instance is a gold dragon wyrmling (from dragon magazine #320).

The last time I played a human (the DM made all of us play humans) I made him a short, sickly albino who was kicked out by his family because they though he was a changeling (in the traditional sense of the word). As soon as I could, I took the Shifter prestige class and changed into every creature I could find asside from human.

Picked shifter because I'm currently playing one, but I don't "usually" play anything in a standard fantasy setting.

I'm probably more likely to pick human than anything else, though. And of course, in other games like Cthulhu or d20 Modern, I play human by default...

Humans are superior.....obviously. They're more openminded and less pigeonholed by racial stereotypes than all the other races put together. They're also more tolerant...

Humans mostly. There's something to say about that extra feat - makes a big difference at lower levels. Still, I've played all the other PHB races before, but haven't played a half-orc in a very long time. More than 15 years since I last played a half-orc back in 1st Ed. My first 3e character was a gnome.
