What races are appropriate to Heroic Bronze (Greece) setting

I'll point you at The New Argonauts, for while it doesn't present any PC races other than humans, it has an extensive "monsters" chapter, many of which are toned-down for use in a low-magic campaign and would be reasonable low-LA PC races (and with tweaking, +0 LA PC races).

Tonguez, have you taken a look at the various "Greek" d20 books yet?

OGL Ancients - Mongoose
Relics & Rituals: Olympus - Sword & Sorcery
Trojan War - Green Ronin

...or as Sean mentioned his The New Argonauts?

All of them have various rules to deal with characters with divine bloodlines and R&R: Olympus tries to integrate the standard races into the setting while adding two new playable races..Fauns & Spartes.

So would Humans. What's so special about elves or half-elves that they'd be excellent as Atlanteans?
Well, remember the point of the thread:

Atlanteans have a reputation for being "superior", with better magic and technology than other races/nations. They are also isolated, and were semi-mythical even in the time of the Greeks.

Elves and half elves are LA +0 and book standard.
Elves and half-elves have a longer lifespan (and possiby a higher average character level), which may account for increased skills and knowledges.
Elves have superior magical knowledge (on average, of course. Favored class: wizard).
They're also similar enough to humans that the human nations would want to deal with them, and can interbreed, allowing for a whole "descended from Atlanteans" thing.

You do have to drop the froofy "we live in trees and dress in leaves" crap that ususally comes with the elves. I'm not saying they're the only choice, but I think they are a good one.
