At the moment I am awfully interested in the Hamunaptra boxed set and the Blackmoor book from Arneson. Beyond Countless Doorways is on my wishlist as well. But since it's hard getting those things over here in old Europe I'll just wait a bit until the C&C PHB and the Yggsburg book are out to have one big package for an overseas shipping via amazon.com :)

I picked "other," although I think M&M is fantastic (as has been mentioned, it's not as easily portable over to "regular" d20 as the other options).

I like Unearthed Arcana, it's one of my favorite WotC releases. It has a ton of options to customize a campaign. Midnight is a fantastic setting, and has some really innovative tweaks to the d20 system - the heroic paths are a good example, especially if you want to reduce the importance and prevalence of magical items in the campaign world, but want the PCs to have something to compensate.

Between those two, if I had to pick one, I'd say Unearthed Arcana, since it provides so many options.

Just to be different, GURPS Cabal by Ken Hite. Best set of guidelines for designing and running a paranoid conspiracy anybody's ever done.

BTW, GURPS 4e comes in 2 books. They are:

Basic Set: Characters ($39.95 U.S. ISBN 1-55634-729-4)
Basic Set: Campaigns ($34.95 U.S. ISBN 1-55634-730-8)

Hardbound, full color through out. Well written, well playtested1, well edited.

1Steve Jackson Games takes playtesting very seriously.

My vote was Other. I'm running a D&D game right now with elements of Omega World, Judge Dredd, and Star Wars. So, those are my highest recommendations, in order.

Otherwise, get Mesopotamia. It is a great adventure AND setting.

I am reading Relics & Rituals Olympus now. So far, it is a good read of incorporating Greek flavor into D&D. I think its predecessor, Excalibur, must be good for arthurian elements, too.

I also like Dragonstar quite a bit, and you should be able to pick it up cheap now that the Essential Collection is released. The Starfarer's Handbook is the best I've read in that line.

Any of the Horizons books is a good read. 64 pages is concise. I liked Spellslinger enough to run it. Grimm is on the list for the free one-shot adventure on the FFG web site. Redline is a neat Mad Max type game. Virtual and Mechamorphosis really push the d20 envelope.

I read the BESM SRD online for free. I think I even downloaded it. I would recommend this as well as reading the d20 Modern SRD online for free. That way, you can try before you buy (or don't buy).

If you want a glimpse of pirate D&D, go look at the free stuff for Skull & Bones on the Green Ronin web site. The book is fun to read, but I opted out of about 90% of the new rules when I ran a pirate D&D game.
