D&D 5E What should my lore bard do at 4th level?

I no, i should just focus on spells. I dont need to do real damage and while inspiring leader is good, its not fun for me.. Maybe 5-6 encounters a day we do. And if we cant get short rests in I.leader loses its luster

We have ranger,palidin,druid,sorceror,rogue

Well, that party certainly has most of the bases covered. I see your point about Insp. Leader, that group has a very low reliance on short rests, so I don't think that's a smart direction. Honestly, I'd reiterate my support for going magic initiate (warlock). You're a lore bard (which has some of the worst native at-will scaling in the game), in a long-rest heavy party with 5+ encounters, which needs you need to boost your at-will and conserve spell slots. Grabbing greenflame blade (or booming blade) will keep your at-will damage respectable.

Lol, that was my first choice from beginning.But was going to do hex/elditch blast.(greenflame not in my book, will dm allow this?) I changed my mind because hex takes up concentration slot and doesnt work on saving throws, just ability checks, and seemed meh at higher levels. But greenflame looks better than eldritch blast but now i have to get up close...hmmm

Sure, but you have a Dex 18, right? Shield + Armor + Dex 18 = AC 18, which is perfectly workable. Grab Spirit Guardians as one of your magical secrets and get to work.

Apologies, you're absolutely correct. Must have been thinking of valor bards. It's still not bad being in melee, just a little more dangerous.

Shield is considered heavy armor?
