What Should My Next 4e Project be? (Round 2)

What Should My Next 4e Project Be? (See below for descriptions of each option)

  • Poll closed .
Only 24 hours to go and so far the top 3 vote getters are:

Traps and Hazards
Monster Design Book
Fantasy Backdrop Book

Coming in a close 4th is the Detail Organiztion Book.

The other choices are a bit further behind, but a late push could put any of them into the drivers see for the home stretch. If you have not voted and would like to see any of these as 4e books, then get your vote out and make a difference... at least in regards to what I'll be spending my free time on in the near furture ;)

4e is so dang generic- I'd love to see the '“Points of Light” Mini-SettingBook' just to see a good rationale of how all this stuff works together coherently- with some well thought out fluff behind it. Bonus points if you work a good back story to what exactly residuum is and why it does what it does!

Although given how sparse the 4e MM is in regards to monster description 6 would be fun too (though i can always just look in past MMs for those)

Thanks for your votes! I too think it would be very interesting to come up with a rationale for how things work in 4e... it could be quite fun. As for residuum, well everyone knows its... oh I can't tell you ;)

Yeah its definately sparse... especially when I think about how much attention each monster in the Monsternomicon got. I really enjoy creating interesting hooks for monsters whether they are entire species or unique ;)

Hmmm. Went for fantasy backdrops. Most useful as a DM. :)

I actually wrote a very extesive realms rules set for 3.5 crosed with a bit of Star Wars Saga (for skills). Basically each realm was developed and run like a character. I did it for background setting info for my games, but the players had some fun actually running the realms for a couple of nights.

I even had a campaign where the players 'ran' a realm for the 2 years prior to the actual campaign taking place. A good way for them to learn the setting :) I have been thinking about how to do this for 4e...

Just make it random rolls for DM background, or continue with the whole realms taking actions and stuff???

Just one more hour before the bells toll on this poll... and things are really tightening up... just a few votes seperate the top five choices. Who will win? Who will reign supreme? ;)

Thanks! ;)

Cool... I wrote a similiar thing for organizations.

One of my favorite campaigns was Birthright... lots of fun and it had a great ending with all the players making the ultimate sacrifice for the world.

I'm not certain which direction I would go in. I would certainly want to look at what else is out there in the way of realms books (besides Birthright) and see what I might be able to bring to the table that would make it feel distinctly 4e.

However, it seems the realms book will have to wait since there are a few project ahead of it in the polling ;)

The polls are now closed and the top three have been chosen. Fore more information head to Round 3 and the "tribal council" portion of proceedings. ;)

PS: Thanks to everyone who voted... it became a tight race at the end with a couple of the proposals just one vote shy of making the final cut. I hope everyone will join me in the new thread and help me make my final decision. ;)
