Definately fey.

Given how important fey are in the literature and mythology upon which D&D is based, the fey themselves have always been kind of a joke. It's either Something from a Disney Movie (Sprite), An excuse to draw boobs (Nymph), or something that isn't fey at all (Wendigo).

It's about time we saw an actually faerie court or two, and something closer Galadriel or Morgan la Fay than Tinker Bell or the Lucky Charms Guy.

A 3.5 Faces of Evil style book. However I won't hold my breath on it. I doubt we'll ever see something on that level of depth from WotC. Their design philosophy currently just won't support such a book. Almost entirely flavor text w/ no PrCs, new PC races, items, and feats. The book is the anathema of the current design focus.

And so based on that, and how spec'freaking'tacular a job that Colin McComb did on 'Faces of Evil', I partially don't want a fiend book or two simply so WotC doesn't screw up in comparison to what has already been done so well. Plus, the yugoloths will get shafted inevitably if a 3.5 fiend book gets done. The 'loths for whatever reason have just been minimized in 3e compared to the Tanar'ri and Baatezu.

Now, don't get me wrong here, WotC might make a very nice book, but it'll always be judged versus 'Faces of Evil' or 'Hellbound', and damn if that's not a high standard. It's not fair for them, but it's true.

Now I could always land in bizarro world and get my wish and have Colin get hired by WotC to write a new book. ;)

Given that all, I'd rather hope for a fey book from WotC. And I want Gwen Kestrel to be among the writers.

I want a heavily illustrated and lustrous book about oozes. Just, you know, for the sake of irony of having full-oage, lush illos of acid puddles and snot droppings.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

When I voted last night, mine was the only vote for magical beasts. It's good to see I'm not the only one now.

There's something, well, magical about magical beasts. Displacer beasts, blink dogs, worgs, owlbears, ankhegs, girallons, lamias. There's a large spectrum there. And they are a staple of the game, as much so as dragons and fiends. After all, my PCs spend a good deal of time levelling up on fights with magical beasts in order to get to those big nasty fights.

Giants would definitely be my first pick, followed by magical beasts. But to be honest I'd be happy to see coverage on just about any of them... Okay, except for the "Book of Fairies". :p

Cheers!
