What shows or movies do you wish would get either DVD or Instant Viewing releases

Over here, at least, there was a release of the DVDs that included the original versions amongst the special features, which is quite nice. But they genuinely are the original versions, not even the remastered or LaserDisc versions - so "Star Wars" doesn't have "Episode 4: A New Hope" in the title crawl, the sound is in stereo (I think) rather than 5.1, and so on. They're nice to have, certainly, but probably not quite what I would have chosen to have.

I remember being really excited when this set first came out, until I found out about this:

The DVDs used non-anamorphic video sourced from the 1993 LaserDisc releases, which was nowhere near the same quality as the remastered versions of the films present in the 2004 boxset.
So close, yet so far.

I'm basically at a point with Star Wars releases where I'm going to just use Harmy's version as the definitive edition. They've been so late releasing high def versions and so edit-happy every time that it's just not worth my time and money to even humor official releases any more.

1. It's a pain to deal with out of region DVDs (not to mention Blu Rays). You have to get a player dedicated to it, and even that doesn't work with 100% certainty. You can use a computer, but then you can't watch on your TV unless you have an HTPC (and even then it's not completely trivial). And you can't just do a simple video conversion because the frame rate differences between PAL and NTSC will cause artifacts.

2. Languages. Particularly on animated stuff, the foreign stuff sometimes doesn't have the right dubbing or subbing to make it useable. And sometimes even if the main show is available with the right language, the special features won't be.

3. It's shady from a legal standpoint. I believe it's technically illegal to intentionally subvert region codings. Or maybe it's illegal to sell outside of region. I don't know the exact details, but I know there are laws about it.

Edit: I just noticed you're in Holland. Please note that you are in same DVD region as the rest of Europe, so it's more or less trivial for you to get stuff from the UK or other close countries. But here in the US we're Region 1 and aren't compatible with stuff that come from across the pond.

If it is illegal then I am willfully breaking the law my DVD player is region free and I buy region 2 DVDs all the time mostly from Ebay but also from Amazon UK. I have never once had a DVD that didn't play just fine on it.

I have also used the codes on the internet to turn a region 1 player into a region free player.

Now it is true that there could be language issues. But I guess since I mostly buy British that has not been an issue.

There are so many that I would like to see.

What comes to mind is some shows from the 70s that I loved liked The Bold Ones, The Name of the Game, Search.

I wish someone would release season 2 of Earth Final Conflict every other season has been released. And season 3 of Seaquest yes I can see it on streaming but I would like to have a copy. I would like to see Rick Springfield Human target and his show High Tide come out on DVD.

The rest of the seasons of The Sentinel, Werewolf, Shade of LA. Shadowchasers.

I'd love to see Blake's 7, The Goodies (each as a complete series boxed set - that would be awesome!), and Crossbow. That last one was a half-hour TV show about William Tell; I saw it on TV years ago, and it was pretty good. It reminded me a lot of Kung Fu, in a way - the protagonist goes wandering around the country helping different people every episode, while being hunted by those who would do him harm.

can't believe I forgot to mention this:
The rest of THE MUPPET SHOW!!!
c'mon Disney--you bought Henson & co. Forget the crappy soulless movies, and give us the rest of the original show.

I had forgotten about Crossbow I really liked that show. Another short lived show would be Warriors and Wizards.
