What sort of reviews do you want to read?

Reviews done after you've used the book in play.

I disagree for a couple of reasons.

First, as Crothian said, it's not always feasible to play it. And even playing it, it sometimes takes several times playing it to find something that doesn't work as well.

Second, though, is for me that's not as important as how much the book inspired. I rarely use a book verbatim, usually tailoring things to fit my campaigns. So for me, it's more about how inspiring the book was even if some of the book wasn't the best, it still gave great ideas.

That's just me.

I plan to review modules after I've played with them. I'd like to review sourcebooks after a read-through, but I don't necessarily expect to be able to run Draconomicon's stuff at my table for a while.

I problem (and it is a nice problem to have) is then when I have playtested games I end up having fun and enjoying it. Not because of the game, but I enjoy gaming with my friends so much that even stinker of games we have tried we end up coming away with an enjoyingable afternoon. Some of those games and books have gotten reviewed, others I couldn't write review on because the afternoon was not so much about the game as it was about the people.

I do have a small pile of all the modules I have run and not reviewed. I have made it a point to review those.

mshea, nice thread you have going. And thanks for starting to review things. :D

Useful review of the Draconomicon! :)

Brief over-view of the contents and how they would be useful... I wasn't sure about picking this up, until now (yes)... thanks :)
