What system would you use for Pirates of the Cthulhubbean?

Catherine, are you asking Henry if he's seen your husband, or is your husband named Henry? Yes if the latter (well, technically no, I've never seen him with my own two eyes); no comment if the former.

Thanks for y'all's advice! Any other ideas are, of course, welcome. I'll point the DM-to-be to this thread.

i just wanna be on the list of peple called when disney decides to build the "pirates of the cthuhubean" ride.

now THAT would be fun to do!

The Freeport adventures have a decided lovecraftian influence, what with the Yig Cult and all. Somewhere out there on the net is a little thing called Elizabethullu, which isn't really all that CoC, that you might check out. Of course if you want to do something non-d20: GURPS Swashbucklers, Cthullupunk, and maybe Horror will serve well.

The DM isn't registered over here, but she's asked me to pass along her thanks to everyone; looks like she'll be picking up Skull and Bones.

Daniel,

I've got a copy of Mongoose's Seas of Blood I'd be willing to sell at half cover price if she's interested. I picked it up in an eBay lot and I haven't used it, but I'd be willing to bring it into Asheville if need be. Let me know...

As one of the designers of Skull & Bones, I'll say this: If Call of Cthulhu D20 had any Open Content whatsoever, we would've made use of it!

We did feature several Lovecraftian elements (snake men, and "The Book of Eibon"--for which we suggested including spells from a "non-OGL D20 game of cosmic horror") in the first issue of Buccaneers & Bokor, our support ezine.

(...and on a personal note: Thanks to all who suggested S&B as best suited for the poster's needs. I appreciate it!)
