I loved that brawny monster almost as much as the Half orc paladin Iconic. who sadly did not make the cut since monkey grip went non core.

The dropper i prefer over the ethereal marauder, but that could be because i like B&W over color.

The catoblepas was most likely ommited because it was deemed too deadlyby 3e designers. It was later nerfed and added to MM2 IIRC

I wonder... if that little guy were carrying an upright long spear, would my DM allow a free impale attempt in that situation?
