For my very-imaginative little girls? No doubt. In a heartbeat.

Although I think it'd have better source material in Disney's Fairies. The Fairies encounter difficulties and challenges, and work to overcome them with their skills and resources.

My girls aren't allowed to watch the "new" My Little Ponies, because the only 'difficulty' the ponies ever encounter is - and I don't exaggerate - their own stupidity.

Doesn't stop the girls from collecting the ponies, though.

My 6yo rugrat watches the new show. She's getting the whole collection for easter. Wife and I call them the crackhead ponies, due to thier rampant insanity.
