D&D General What the Melf's Guide to Greyhawk Cover Might Look Like

Below is a quick mockup of the potential cover of Melf's Guide to Greyhawk based on the Jeff Easley art revealed at Gary Con, using the current D&D 5.5E trade dress. The fonts aren't quite right, but it gives an approximate look at what the book may look like when it is released.

Everything both Luke and WotC has said is that this is a physical product with physical modules

I like it.... most anything is better than a lot of the garbage art I've seen over the last several years. Meh... to each their own, we all have different tastes and preferences, and that should be appreciated in and of itself.

Agreed. I've always wanted a "return to form" but not at the expense of the current direction. Both can exist.

Now if they can only do that with MtG too...

If it ends up as an official D&D book I would guess it would use a trade dress similar to the Forgotten Realms books.

I'm a bit of the opposite, this may be the worst 5e cover IMO. However, of the 4 big old school D&D artist Easley was 3rd or 4th on my list. That being said, I do like appealing to my nostalgia!

Elmore, Caldwell, and Brom for Darksun were my favorite but Easley I still love.

I hope they get more covers like this. I really want to see a reverse of direction from the art of 2024 D&D.

I doubt it will happen, but at least with the Greyhawk line they should get back to form.

If it doesn't go back to form I won't be disappointed, but if it DOES go back to form I will be highly Enthusiastic. My hope is maybe the money is not working out for them with the modern sensibilities and they are making a course correction. I doubt it but its my developed world dream.
