What weapon would be apropriate for a character named "The Lion"?

Oberyn

First Post
Im going to be playing in an ebberon game online and since its on his house coat of arms i wanted him to be called "The Lion of Deneith" But for the life of me i cant picture what weapon he could use.

As an alternative he could also be called "The Dragon of Deneith" and maybe just weild a dragoncraft weapon of some sort but id like opinions on what weapons would be apropriate there.

He is a third level fighter but thanks to my DM i can have a +1 weapon with a +1 equivalent special ability.

P.S. If anyone would like to extend thier list of weapon advice a bit you could possibly start a list associating an animal to a weapon. (Example. Rat= poisoned dagger.)

I have no idea what weapons would relate to lions, particularly. Maybe ones that add to trips and charge attacks, and things like that?

Anyway, my random choice of the minute is:

A +1 Lucky Maul

(because it is so unlike anything I would normally recommend.. if I was to recommend anything.) :)

--- incidentally, the ENWorlders who frequent the D&D Rules Forum tend to be very helpful with these kinds of questions. So actually, I recommend their advice - well, above my own, certainly. :D

Some form of claw weapon that would also work with grapple but you may be better looking at the nature of the beast, say our zodiac Leo: a fire sign with Dignity, will-power, generosity, loyalty, confidence, ambitious.

I once played a Pyschic Warrior named Sher Bahadur who had a tiger theme. I use a pair of keen Kukri to emulate his claws

I guess i should have stated that i did mean the nature of the beast. First thing that popped into my head was a greatsword but it just didnt quite hit the mark.
