What weapon would be apropriate for a character named "The Lion"?

you could always say the "lion" referrs to his ferocity and nobility, not the kind of weapon he wields.

Or...if you WANT a weapon that is 'lionish" see if you can find stats for the bagh nakh

Make him a ranger, take the 2WF style and use tiger claws, and take Improved Grapple, Improved Toughness, and Dual Strike (to emulate pounce) as bonus feats.

The Flaming greatsword could be quite cinematically pleasing (not sure why but i always need my characters to represent thier personality with their every item.)

I was also thinking that possibly being a psy war and using claws of the beast. What do you all think?


To help out here ill give you a small snippet of his backstory.

Since he was just a small boy living in the city of sharn Aemon loved Lions. His house was the leader of a major mercenary's guild. He loved to watch his fathers pet lions fight and play. He would even sometimes sneak out of the town to go find wild lions. He only ever found one however. In some madness, he was only a boy of 14 after all, Aemon decided to challenge the lion. Using strength he did not know he had he finaly managed to subdue the lion, but not before receiving a large scar across his left eye rendering it useless. His father did not send for a healer and instead his personal gaurdsmen walked towards the boy, one of them stretched out his hand and placed it over the socket where his eye had once been. He could see again, he went racing to a mirror and when he saw his reflection he saw that his left eye had been replaced by a golden crystal.

I like the first suggestion. After clobbering your foes, you can tell them they've been 'mauled by The Lion.'

Being called "The Lion" isn't enough to pin down a weapon. I mean, Richard the Lionheart was a chainmail-wearing, longsword-and-shield type of knight. Conan, during his piracy days, was called "Amra", which means "Lion", and was a very different type of character.

The fact that you're a Deneith is much more important. The traditional Deneith weapon is the sword (check out the novel City of Towers). So I'd say go with a longsword or bastard sword and make your personal seal be a lion with the Deneith Watchful Eye symbol on its forehead.

You could use a large flail that has a hole near one end; when you whirl the flail fast enough, it makes a 'roaring' sound like a bullroarer. Or get a large sheild made and enchanted with an embossed lion symbol that moves and roars when you shield-bash with it.

You could get the lion shield, would fit your character perfectly.
For weapon, theres the claw bracers in FRC, but I dont think its quite what your looking for.

A mace, where the weapon head is shaped like a lion? The mane could be spikes.

Actually, I would suspect that he would tend to avoid high battles using his superior bluff skill. Thus his name: "Man, I hate that dude. He's always Lion to get out of trouble."
