What weapon would be apropriate for a character named "The Lion"?

On his houses coat of arms there is also a dragon. So if anyone would like to throw out sugestions for "The Dragon of Deneith" weaponry it would be great. i could probably pull off a dragon tude with LN easyer anyways... or do you guys think that it could be a lion like character who just follows a code of doing what he is payed to do but sort of having an eye for an eye attitude? Feirce protector kind of personality.

I think you may be overthinking the weapon aspect just a wee bit too much, and I suggest focusing on personality traits that fit the description, as you've described here.

:)

Damn if a maul ain't fierce. :p

But OK, dragons eh?

Again, I have no idea why, but how about another random selection:

A +1 Keen Falchion

... ?

edit --- Confession: I like my hammers and swords, alright.

A lion fights with claws and fangs. If you don't want to do some kind of exotic claw weapon then how about a curved blade to represent the fangs? Maybe a scimitar ("Fang of the Lion") or maybe a pair of kukri's ("The Lion's Fangs")?

That or a shield with a lion motiff and a longsword/flail/mace, Richard the Lionheart style.

You absolutely have to go with a Morningstar. Head shaped like a roaring lion's mouth, with the mane flowing out into spikes. You could have a flaming/acidic/etc property or even better, sonic damage, from a loud roaring sound it emits. Plus, it's one handed, so you could add the Lion's Shield later on as your legend grows.

And it will grow.

Your character can kick soccerballs that transform into a magical charging lion like in the movie Shaolin Soccer.

Personally, I would get a pair of spiked/bladed gauntlets and work up a two-weapon fighter.

The Dragon of Deneith?

Armor: Spiked Scale mail for armor, add a spiked shield if you go with a sword & board build.

Weapons: Spiked Chain or any "whiplike" emulate the tail. Spiked gauntlets for the claws. Gyrespike, while silly, lets you emulate the tail AND still delivers a good primary attack. The Kusari-gama does as well.

AND, if I recall properly, a spiked chain and some others threaten out to 10' but not adjacent spaces, and the spiked armor & gauntlets threaten the adjacent spaces- so take Combat Reflexes and some kind of Improved Unarmed combat.

Other: Take Alchemy for weapons that simulate draconic breath weapons, like acid or alchemist fire bombs. Winged Cape or some other means of flying is a must.

Class(es): Take levels in classes that get you the Geomancer PrCl, or something with shapeshifting.

I've been trying to work out how to make a character that has a flaming ball magic weapon (first Final Fantasy, Teken Ball and then Shaolin Soccer - its just got to happen)
