Shadow's theme will be the 3e Shadowcaster plus the Shadow Hand Adept Swordsage plus the Shadow Dancer.
I don't have any particular insight, I've just noted the "shadow power source" material released near the end of 3e. If you want more information, talk to Mouseferatu. He seems to have started the whole thing. And while it may be out of his hands now, its likely that his work, and maybe a proprietary design document or two, have heavily influenced what we're going to see.
Now mechanically I have no idea. The existing power structure is already pretty close to the Shadowcaster's Mystery system. The only other unique thing the Shadowcaster had besides choosing powers every level is the idea of powers that got easier to use (going from 1/day to 2/day to 3/day) as you advanced in level. I don't know how well that fits with 4es structure.
